Weird Animals
Most people are scared of the things that they do not know. An example of that is animals: most animals may look terrifying but they might actually be absolutely harmless. Most “scary” animals will not attack unless they feel that their lives are being threatened.
For example
Vultures do not actually attack their prey but just wait until an animal is dead (usually a bird or a rat) and then eat the remains of their body.
Fun fact: vultures can see food on the ground from more than 2 miles away in the sky!
Or:
Some Tarantulas, some people may look at tarantulas and scream for help, . whilstWhist in reality they are mostly harmless. They will never hurt you unless you disturb them.
Fun fact: Some people even keep tarantulas as pets!
Another example is:
Wasps. They do have the potential to kill but they also help massively in pollinating. Though they may not be as good as the bees, they are still a huge help to the world because they assist in making our food, honey and even more.
Fun fact: a worker wasp only lives for about 11 days!
But sometimes people can underestimate animals because of their size and appearance.but Some of the harmless looking ones are actually quite harmful...
.
Such as:
The jewel wasp, also known as the zombie maker wasp, depends on cockroaches to provide food for its babies. But obviously the cockroaches do not want to be eaten alive, so the jewel wasp puts the cockroach into a state of lethargy. The wasp has a particular chemical mix that it injects into the cockroach's brain to alter its behavior. Many other wasps also use complex venoms to parasitize spiders but the jewel wasp is the only known wasp to torporize a wasp.
Ultimately, I think that the main thing that people must understand is that you can't just judge something/someone by the way that they/it looks.
YES, do not judge a book by its cover!
ReplyDeleteOnly 11 days for a wasp worker??? Whoa how many wasps do they have in a hive? How many queens do they need to replenish those numbers? Is that a particular type of a wasp since I renege reading honeybee workers live approximately 6 years. So fascinating.
